Empower the next generation of chemists, scientist, and material innovators with leading tools and data
We have a passion for education
Green chemistry education is critical for helping transform how future scientists use chemicals in their research, product design, and daily lives.
Our aim is to empower students with practical tools to address real-life sustainability issues. We are on a mission to expand access to the best available science and chemical hazard data for academic leaders through our partnership with Beyond Benign and their leading green chemistry education programs.
Join us to change the way the next generation of chemists and material innovators make decisions.
Create Access To the Best Available Science
Access to comprehensive chemical hazard data has historically been reserved for big companies and boutique consultancies. Cost, inconsistencies, and ownership concerns have slowed access to information and industry’s shift to safer chemicals.
ChemFORWARD has changed this with a centralized digital infrastructure, multi-step quality assurance processes, and harmonized chemical ratings for comparability.
Our unique data-sharing model has created broad access to chemical hazard data, enabling proactive chemical management and design of safe and sustainable solutions across multiple supply chains. User include leading brands in Consumer Electronics, Beauty & Personal Care, Apparel & Footwear, and Packaging.
When you join the NextGen Chem Alliance your donations enable us to proactively bring these same benefits to higher education, empowering and educating the next generation of chemists, designers, and informed consumers.
Beyond Benign: Empowering
Educators to Transform Chemistry Education
Partnership Makes It Possible
Beyond Benign’s Green Chemistry Commitment (GCC) Program is an extensive network of academic institutions that are committed to incorporating green chemistry student learning objectives, including toxicology, into its teaching to broaden chemists’ understanding of how to design chemical products with reduced hazards and impacts.
The Beyond Benign GCC consortium is committed to transforming the teaching and practice of chemistry at its member institutions, which include over 265 academic institutions worldwide.
Impact
Our goal is to provide educational institutions with access to credible hazard data to inform design that leads to safer and more sustainable materials and products.
We will collaborate with Beyond Benign’s Green Chemistry Commitment network that includes 264+ signatories reaching more than 1.7 million students globally to support their ambitious goal to help increase the % of graduating chemists each year that have a background in green chemistry. We are proud to provide access to leading tools and resources for this growing community.
Progress toward these goals will be reported annually by sharing the adoption of ChemFORWARD resources including the Chemical Hazard Data Trust and Alternatives Finder in higher education. Metrics will include:
# of institutions using the learning modules
# of educators utilizing the learning modules
# of students who gained access to the Chemical Hazard Data Trust
Qualitative impact based on end-of-class satisfaction survey
